The recent election of Mallam Abdullahi Omede popularly known as “Mendable” is the best thing that will happen to the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, not only in Dekina were he is going to preside , but the entire Kogi state.
Omede, a seasoned politician of high repute was born and brought up in the area, schooled in the area and has worked with so many political class from Governor, commissioners, Local government chairmen , Chairmen of Agencies and parastatals and known every nooks and crannies of sane political movement over two decades .
Very dedicated, determined and had remain consistent with PDP as an ideology and way of life , and has never made attempt to deflect to any new opposition or coalition party no matter the pressure.
Highly influential in Dekina local government and across Kogi state , Omede has served in various capacities from ward, local government, state and even federal level to ensure PDP after leaving power in 2012 in Kogi became the solid main opposition party.
Very young , energetic, interactive and communicative across party line , his goodwill across party whether APC, SDP, PDP and the new coalition movement ADC or ADA has made his election reduced tension and will bring about political stability.
With Omede , gone were the days when PDP will be sold on a butter and bread to the opposition party or ruling All Progressives Congress APC on elections, but genuine contest and real winners will emerge.
Mendable has resisted many influence of being manouvered to support opposition many times in the last one decade , he has remained consistent with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and determined to take the slogans not only in Dekina ,the eight councils of Kogi East , but in the Central and Kogi West in the next dispensation.
He doesn’t believe in political confrontation, violence, and altercation, but determination to create a level playing ground for all political actors in the various political party to play their roles.
All hands must be on deck to support Abdullahi Omede, Mendable whose idea is allowing the opposition to thrive amidst ruling party.
With his connection, popularity , gentle mien and simplicity, PDP will take over the day not only in Dekina local government, but the entire Kogi East, West and Central.
All hands must be on deck to support the leadership of Abdullahi Omede of PDP in the current dispensation, as he is determined to change the tide of underdevelopment of PDP in Dekina, Kogi state at large .
