The alliance between Kogi East and Kogi West was sealed by Prince Abubakar Audu and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. It was a conversation of equals, built on mutual respect. The people affirmed it with an overwhelming mandate at the polls, a mandate for unity, not domination.
That mandate was truncated by death. And in the vacuum that followed, that sacred trust was hijacked. The beneficiary of that sacrifice turned against the very spirit of the arrangement. Despite refusing to stand on the campaign with Audu/Faleke, he would later inherit the crown — and then break the promise made to Kogi in the name of their treacherously invented “Ebigo”
A promise was made to rotate power in the spirit of justice. Like the leopard and its spots, his character betrayed the oath. A cousin was installed, and 8 years is subtly designed to be 16.
Through Bello pro max, that template was not just repeated. It was amplified. Under the Ododo administration, the politics of exclusion was taken from _pro_ to _pro-max_. One LGA was elevated above 20 others. Nepotism was no longer whispered. It was institutionalized.
This reckless betrayal made one truth undeniable: No senatorial district can govern Kogi alone. And when one district governs for itself alone, the other two become victims of the same injustice.
And so, history is repeating itself — but this time, with eyes open.
Just as “Hope ’93” became “Renewed Hope” and birthed victory, the East-West Covenant of 2015 must be reborn to change Kogi. Not for revenge. For rescue.
There has never been a time in our history where one senatorial district treated the other two with such careless abandon, such exclusivity, such systemic marginalization.
Destiny joined East and West in victimhood.
Now destiny is joining East and West in liberation.
Let us bury our differences. Let us honor the memory of Prince Audu. Let us honor the agreement of Faleke.
Let us walk our way out of this unprovoked oppression and into government.
2027: THE COVENANT IS REBORN. OKUN IS NOW.
