Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has emphasized that the Katsina State Community Development Programme (KSCDP) is birthed to foster community-driven development and strengthening governmental institutions.
Governor Radda made this known while receiving the World Bank team ahead of the launching of the Katsina State Community Development Programme (KSCDP), scheduled for 21 November, 2024.
In his welcome address, Governor Radda noted that Community Development Programme aims to empower state government institutions and enhance local government administrative capacity.
The programme will address critical challenges in key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihood opportunities, demonstrating the state government’s commitment to holistic community development.
Speaking on the importance of collaborative partnerships, Governor Radda underscored the significance of working with development partners, stakeholders, and the federal government to ensure alignment with national and global development goals.
He specifically described the World Bank as a valued partner, acknowledging that their participation and insights will be crucial to the programme’s success.
The World Bank delegation, led by Country Director Dr. Ndiame Diop, commended Governor Radda for initiating this innovative community development initiative.
The World Bank team will spend three days in Katsina, during which they will review project implementations, launch newly constructed schools, and conduct site visits to assess various interventions.
Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring community involvement and ownership throughout the project’s execution. He further stressed the importance of sustainable development strategies.
