The Registrar and Secretary to the Council of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba(PAAU) earlier today paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Leader of the 10th House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims in his office at the National Assembly to convey a strongly worded message of the State’s premier tertiary institution in appreciation of the campus’ electrification project facilitated by Rep. Halims.
Rep. Halims who doubles as the member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State in response to the letter underscored the importance of a safe environment at both day and night to the productivity of every citadel of learning. He further revealed that the gesture is aimed at providing adequate lighting for security operatives and students who wish to either study or attend tutorials on campus at night.
The Registrar, Barr. Yahaya Segun Alilu during his presentation of the University’s letter which was signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche said that Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims is a promise keeper. He refreshed with ecstasy the circumstances that led to the Federal Lawmaker’s donation of numerous solar powered street lights to the University and wished him well in all his endeavours.
According to Barr Alilu, “we made a request to you for solar lights and to the glory of God you called informing us that the lights were underway to be installed and it came to pass. So, the University Management asked me to come here as a Principal Officer to convey our appreciation to you. We appreciate you, we wish you well in this office and even in your future endeavours.” He said.
While assuring the donor of her highest esteemed regards in the letter of appreciation, the Vice-Chancellor also notes that the University Management holds Rep. Halims in high esteem for the magnanimity and afterwards added that the gesture was not only commendable but worthy of emulation.
