Yesterday, the 21st day of June, 2023 was the 81st birthday of the well respected elder statesman, Senator (Dr.) Alex Usman Kadiri. Born in 1942 in the beautiful land of Odu Ogboyega in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, he rose from humble beginning to prominence. And, in all his great achievements, he stays humble and remained committed to the good cause of humanity.
Describing this rare human, Chief Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma, the Atama-Ebule Ata Igala said the elder statesman is one of the very rare breeds God endowed Nigeria with as his types are not common – very honest, meticulous, fearless, transparent, highly intelligent and in all, contented. In a telephone conversation during the celebration and launching of his biography, she made supplications to the Almighty God to grant him good health, more strength, wisdom and understanding to keep impacting more lives and fulfilling his purpose on earth.
His biography, STANDING OUT IN THE CROWD was unveiled at the Prof. Idris Abdulkadir Hall, National University Commission, Abuja by His Excellency, Fmr. Senate President, Bukola Saraki alongside Capt. Idris Wada (Fmr. Governor of Kogi State), Prof. Godwin Ogbadu, Prof. Jummai Ogbadu, Sen. Dino Melaye and other dignitaries.
The birthday ceremony which started with a special mass at the Catholic Church, Maitama was rounded up at his residence with cutting of cake and toast to living a purposeful life with family, friends and associates. The celebrant, before cutting his birthday cake fulfilled a vow he made to God by donating 15 hectre of land to the Catholic Mission with the Certificate of Occupancy handed over to the representative of the Bishop of Idah Diocese.
