The election of Rt Honourable Paul Gowon Haruna into the 10th House of Representatives in 2023 general elections, representing Dekina/ Bassa from kogi state was a familiar terrain , particularly having served in the same capacity at the state level as a former member , Kogi state House of Assembly between 2012-2016.
Popularly known as IJN, acronym as “In Jesus Name”, he had combined his religious disposition, philanthropy, magnanimity, contributions, political exposure and experiences to advance both community, state and national development.
Away from politics and philanthropy, Haruna is a successful business mogul, with conglomerates both in construction, hospitality and petroleum scattered across the nooks and crannies of his community in Kogi state, and by extension the entire country at large.
His decision to delve into the Kogi state politics and National level was to further consolidate his humane gesture to his immediate community, state and national level, a gesture he had sustained over the years as an employer of labor.
Haruna while at the State House of Assembly in Kogi state aside providing the needed constituency projects and other interventions both personally and officially from the state government for four consecutive years, donated his monthly salary to the constituents, as he doled out cash and items on monthly basis to his constituency, a record not broken in recent times.
The federal lawmaker also provided infrastructures, social services and security, job creation, scholarships and empowerment as part of his cardinal objectives from time to time, during his four year term in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The positive development improved the lives of his constituents both in commerce, Education, Agriculture, self development among many others.
Without pretences, many years down the line , the federal lawmaker assumed that same status at the National Assembly as member representing Dekina/Bassa in the green chamber and continued his humanitarian and selfless disposition he was known for.
Rt Honourable Paul Gowon Haruna one year down the line , has sustained the record of donations of his monthly salary to his constituents, for onward channeling to both personal and community services to the betterment of his constituents.
This huge investments and sustenance of the donation of his monthly salary through humanitarian gesture to constituents, was been consolidated through provision of infrastructure, empowerment, capacity building, training, development training and retraining among many others to improve not only the lives of his people, but enhance self sustenance, sufficiency and self reliance.
His investment rare in the current dispensation at the National Assembly has assisted in no small measure to the progress and development of his area and constituents.
For Rt Honourable Paul Gowon Haruna, it will be a dream come true for constituents in the 10th House of Representatives, for Dekina/ Bassa in the current dispensation.
