The Katsina State Government will soon convene a stakeholder meeting with Chairmen of the 34 local government areas of the state to fashion a way out of the present economic hardship for Katsina residents.
A statement released on Wednesday by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the spokesperson to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, announced the meeting.
The meeting, which will be summoned at the instance of Governor Radda, will enable the Katsina State Government take a stance on how best to bring succour to the people of the state, ahead of the month of Ramadan.
This is in realisation of the current economic hardship prompted by the price increase of commodities.
Governor Dikko Radda hinted this when he officially inaugurated members and management of nine government parastatals in the state at the Katsina Government House.
According to him, government at all levels are aware of the suffering of the common man at this time. Radda who appreciated the patience and understanding of people of the state also called for more cooperation.
Turning to the inaugurated board members, the governor said the state government had made careful selection of the best brains and most honourable people as board members, to work for the development of the state.
This, he said, was to allow the state government to maximize and take advantage of their experience, hard work and commitment toward building the state. He said in the last nine months, his administration had made significant impacts on the development of the state and therefore urged them to join hand toward actualizing the dream of ensuring a better Katsina state.
The governing Boards inaugurated by Governor Radda are; Katsina State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Katsina State Enterprises Development Agency, Katsina State Bureau of Public Procurement, Katsina State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission and Katsina State Fiscal Responsibility Commission.Others are Katsina State Development Management Board, Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Katsina State Hisbah Board and Katsina State Zakat and Waqaf Commission.
