PRESS STATEMENT.
1. The Forum of National Presidents of District Development Association Kogi East in their emergency meeting held at Anyigba, Dekina LGA on the 1st of November, 2023 commended the Igala nation for demonstrating high level of maturity in tackling challenges emanating from all shades of political interests in the land and enjoined the people to continue to strive to maintain peace and order before, during and after the November 11th, 2023 Gubernatorial Election in Kogi State.
2. The meeting charged all Districts leaders to work hand in hand with Security Agencies and INEC Officials deployed to their various communities to ensure that due diligence, peace and order is maintained through out the period of the gubernatorial election.
3. The meeting expressed confidence in the Security Agencies particularly, the Police, the Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp and other supporting agencies for their neutral disposition so far and believe that they will do the nation proud come November 11, 2023 in managing the Kogi gubernatorial election.
4. The meeting also thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for all they are doing to demonstrate to the whole world the improved capacity for managing election in Nigeria, and commended the Kogi REC for his neautral disposition as an umpire and hard work to ensuring a free and fair poll come November 11, 2023.
5. Finally the meeting cautioned all would be trouble makers in the chain of election management to stay off the soil of Kogi East before, during and after this exercise.
