In politics, when facts are hard to dispute, some fewer enemies resort to distortion. When a record speaks for itself, some try to rewrite it in their own whimscal way.
That is the nature of competition. But the people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro have learned to separate noise from substance.
Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims PhD is not a newcomer learning the ropes. He’s a ranking legislator who has earned his place:
From Kogi State House of Assembly 2007-2011, to House of Representatives since 2019, to Chairman House Committee on Steel, to today — Deputy Majority Leader of the 10th House of Representatives and member of the APC National Working Committee. That rise is not by chance. It’s by consistency, legislative depth, and trust from colleagues.
What does Season 3 mean?
Season 1 was learning the terrain and laying the foundation.
Season 2 was rising into national leadership and opening doors for the constituency.
Season 3 OYOYO is about consolidation and scale.
1. Legislative Leverage: A Deputy Majority Leader does not queue to be heard. He sits where national budgets, committee priorities, and federal interventions are negotiated. That influence is what Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro cannot afford to throw away to start afresh.
2. Proven Delivery Over Propaganda: While opponents talk, the record shows over 100 solar boreholes, rural roads, drainage in Abejukolo, interventions for schools, health outreaches, empowerment for youths, women and PWDs, and jobs facilitated quietly without media noise. His greatest political “wrong” as even critics admit, is that he did more than he announced.
3. Leadership Beyond the Noise: Leadership is tested not by how loud you defend yourself on social media, but by integrity when attacked, accountability when questioned, courage to take unpopular decisions like probing job racketeering at NAQS to defend Federal Character, and commitment to stay accessible to traditional councils and ordinary constituents.
Politics is rarely simple. Disagreement is healthy. But manufacturing narratives cannot replace a visible trajectory.
In 2027, the question is not about slogans. It’s simple: Should Ankpa, Omala, Olamaboro send an apprentice to Abuja to learn for 4 years, or retain a tested leader who already knows the corridors and is using them for the people?
Let the facts speak. Let the records speak. Let the people decide.
