It is with profound sorrow that I received the news of the passing of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State and an elder statesman.
His passing is a profound loss to his family, the entire people of Kogi State and Nigeria. He was a man of considerable stature, uncommon composure and enduring political significance, whose public life was distinguished by service, dignity and an abiding commitment to the advancement of his people.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris belonged to a generation of leaders whose contributions helped shape the political history of Kogi State. He will be remembered for his statesmanship, his humility and the enduring legacies of his service and impact on humanity.
I extend my deepest condolences to the Idris family, the Government and people of Kogi State. May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and grant his family, associates and all who mourn him the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
