The Allied People’s Movement APM has criticized the Federal Government for reducing infrastructure provision to Nigerians to political gatherings in relation to the Monday flag off of the dualisation of Ibadan – Ijebu ode road without the invitation of its presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde .
This was happening at the same time when the Managing Director , Federal Housing Authority, FHA , a federal government agency commended oyo state governor for constructing Federal government roads in the state .
A statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of APM on Tuesday, Abubakar Yusuf expressed regrets that the Tinubu led administration has reduced provision of basic infrastructure to political ceremony and gatherings.
Yusuf maintained that it is a breach of protocol by the Tinubu administration and members of his cabinet especially the Minister of works, Engr Dave Umahi for the invitation of Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, Olubadan of Ibadan , Oba Rasheed Ladoja , APC leaders and Governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Ali and other notable APC members to a project belonging to the Federal Government.
While appealing to the federal government not to overheat the policy through instigating the traditional class against the government of the state , he described as utterly wrong for inviting Olubadan to a ceremony without the consent of the governor and government of Oyo state.
Yusuf said the party is not unaware of subtle efforts by the federal government to use traditional rules in oyo state against the state government, particularly from the recent visit to the president in appreciation of the release of the abducted orire school children and teachers.
For obvious reasons , why will traditional rulers from Oyo embarked on such a thank you tour without the presence of the chief security officer of the state, Governor Seyi Makinde.? Yusuf Queried
While appealing to the traditional class in the state to abstain from politics, he advised the Olubadan of Ibadan land , Oɓa Rasheed Ladoja to differentiate between politics and tradition as former governor of the state and now the Olubadan of Ibadan land.
While recalling the role of former Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose on his false alarm to dethrone Olubadan some few months after coronation , he maintained that it is uncultured and abnormal for the traditional class to be soaked in political activities.
He said the APM presidential candidate, Engr Seyi Makinde is determined to “Reset Nigeria” through good governance and not merely attaining power as been propagated by the APC led federal government.
