The need to for a United Nations probe advocated by the Oyo state Governor, and Allied People’s Movement APM Presidential candidate, Engr Seyi Makinde on the rescue of Oyo 44 is desiring.
This will prove cynics, political gladiators earlier wrong impression on the complicity and allegations by the former Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose and some quarters that the governor was responsible for the abduction of teachers and pupils.
A statement released on Tuesday and signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party , Abubakar Yusuf said the need became necessary in view of the wrong impression, politicisation of the entire ugly and unfortunate situation already created.
He defended the oyo state Governor who rule the state for over seven years without unblemish of insecurity and at the forefront of the creation of the regional security outfit, ‘Amotekun’ is now been accused of complicit on the sad situation.
The UN probe will be more transparent, without political interference and accessible to all .
It will also guide future occurrences and detonate all other insinuation from any quarter.
While lambasting the former Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele who has turned to political merchandise as a trade, he maintained that such utterances is capable of setting the South-West, Nigeria on fire .
“Not long ago , he raised a fake alarm of plans by the Governor to remove the Olubadan he recently installed , stating that it is high time for him to stop such unfounded , unguarded and dangerous speculations.” Abubakar said .
“For Makinde to successfully installed a new Soun of Ogbomosho, Alafin of Oyo and lately Olubadan of ibadan in record time is enough achievements by the Seyi Makinde led administration in Oyo state, devoid of noticeable rancor among the ruling houses.”
Yusuf eulogised Governor Makinde while making reference to the lingering crises surrounding the succession of the late Awujale of Ijebuland that had lingered.
He enjoined the Tinubu led administration to also accept the suggestion for UN Probe, as a way out of the current security situations in the country.
