The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) heartily congratulates His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Matthew Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, CFR, the Ata Igala and President, Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, on the landmark judgment affirming his rightful ascension to the revered Throne of Ata Igala.
This historic judgment, delivered after nearly four years of legal contest, is not only a personal victory for His Royal Majesty but also a triumph of truth, justice, and the rule of law. The decision has finally laid to rest the prolonged litigation surrounding the ascension to the exalted stool of our revered forefathers, thereby providing a firm foundation for renewed unity and progress in the Igala Kingdom.

As a socio-cultural organization committed to the unity, peace, and development of the Igala nation, the ICDA respectfully calls on all parties to the litigation, their supporters, and the entire Igala people to accept this judgment in good faith. Now is the time to close ranks, heal old wounds, and channel our collective energies toward the advancement of the Igala Kingdom. Continued disputes over a matter now settled by the courts can only undermine our shared aspirations for peace, stability, and development.
The Ata Igala institution remains the enduring symbol of our history, identity, and cultural heritage. It deserves the unwavering loyalty and support of every son and daughter of Igala land, irrespective of previous differences. We therefore urge all stakeholders to embrace reconciliation, demonstrate statesmanship, and work harmoniously with His Royal Majesty in the overriding interest of the kingdom.
On this joyous occasion, we pray that Almighty God grants His Royal Majesty long life, sound health, divine wisdom, and enduring strength to continue providing purposeful, peaceful, and visionary leadership. May his reign usher in greater unity, prosperity, security, and unprecedented development across the Igala Kingdom.
