The National Productivity Centre (NPC) has honoured its immediate past Director-General, Dr. Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha, with a befitting sendforth ceremony in appreciation of his meritorious service to the Centre and the nation.
The event, held at the NPC headquarters conference room in Abuja, was hosted by the current Director-General, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi. It was attended by a former DG of the Centre, Dr. Kashim Yunusa Akor, management staff, special guests, family members, and friends of the celebrant.
In his remarks, Dr. Dan’Agundi commended his predecessor for laying a solid foundation in staff welfare and institutional growth, noting that he has continued to build on that legacy. He also stressed that lack of proper reward systems hampers productivity, adding that under his leadership, retiring Heads of Department would henceforth be presented with cars as parting gifts.
On his part, Dr. Akor described Dr. Raji-Mustapha as a man of integrity who worked with him for eight years without blemish, praising his improvements on past achievements.
Responding, Dr. Raji-Mustapha expressed gratitude to the Centre for the honour, reiterating that motivation remains the key to productivity. He urged the current management to sustain staff welfare initiatives and ensure the approval of the NPC’s Condition of Service.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of a car to Dr. Raji-Mustapha by Dr. Dan’Agundi, alongside other gifts to recent and soon-to-retire directors. Certificates of Service and Awards of Honour were also presented to deserving retirees.
The occasion underscored Dr. Raji-Mustapha’s legacy of visionary leadership and his lasting impact on national productivity development.
