The Social Democratic Party (SDP) strongly condemns the unlawful arrest and detention of Ododo the Flower Boy for criticizing the State Accountant General, Hajia Habibat (Madam Lawlessness). The continued detention of this individual for over a month, without bail or court appearance, is a blatant violation of his rights.
The SDP views this action as an attempt to silence dissent and suppress freedom of speech. If such actions can be taken against one of their own for speaking out against injustice and the Accountant General’s alleged disregard for the law, it sets a dangerous precedent. The SDP calls for the immediate release of Ododo the Flower Boy.
Furthermore, the SDP believes that Hajia Habibat is unfit to hold her position due to her alleged actions and disregard for legislative procedures. Her conduct reflects poorly on the Kogi State government, contributing to the perception of a government operating under a system of kakistocracy. The SDP urges Governor Ododo to address this situation and hold those responsible for this injustice accountable.
