In Loving Memory of Alhaji Usman Yahaya – A Friend, Benefactor, and Distinguished Son of Igala Land
Today, I pay tribute to an exceptional man, a dear friend, and a true patriot of the Igala nation, Alhaji Usman Yahaya. His passing has left a deep void in our hearts, but his legacy of kindness, service, and generosity will remain with us forever.
Alhaji Usman Yahaya was an outstanding transporter who inherited the transport business from his father and, through diligence, wisdom, and hard work, elevated it to greater heights. He was not merely a successful businessman; he was a man who saw his success as a means of uplifting others. He understood that true wealth lies in the ability to touch lives positively, and he dedicated himself to that noble purpose.
Throughout his life, he extended a helping hand to countless people who came his way. He was a benefactor to the people of Ankpa and indeed to the entire Igala nation. His doors were always open to those seeking assistance, guidance, or encouragement. He never turned away the needy, the less privileged, or the downtrodden. Many families, young entrepreneurs, and struggling individuals found hope and support through his generosity and compassion.
To know Alhaji Usman Yahaya was to know sincerity, humility, and kindness. He lived a life of service, treating people with dignity and respect irrespective of their social status. He believed in the progress and unity of the Igala people and demonstrated that belief through his numerous acts of generosity and community support.
On a personal note, I have lost not only a friend but also a brother. During one of the most difficult periods of my life—the illness of my beloved wife—Alhaji Usman stood firmly by my side. He offered encouragement, comfort, and unwavering support. Even when my wife eventually passed on, he remained with me, sharing my grief and helping me bear the heavy burden of that painful loss. Such loyalty and compassion can never be forgotten.
The memory of Alhaji Usman Yahaya will continue to inspire all who knew him. His life reminds us that greatness is not measured by material possessions but by the number of lives we touch and the kindness we show to others. He has left footprints of love, generosity, and service on the sands of time.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable son of Igala land, we thank Almighty God for the gift of his life and for the immense contributions he made to humanity. Though he is no longer with us physically, his noble deeds, his friendship, and his legacy of compassion will continue to speak for generations to come.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends, and the entire Igala nation the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss.
