Yesterday, 22nd May 2026, I participated in a strategic meeting in Abuja hosted by the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, alongside Chief Joseph Erico and Dr. Tim Nda Diche, to deliberate on the unity of Kogi East and the possibility of resolving the the issues surrounding the 20th May APC primary election for the kogi East Senatorial . I attended the meeting because of the respect I have for the office of the Deputy Governor.
The discussions were sincere, frank and constructive. I informed the meeting that I had earlier issued a Press Statement that I had withdrawn from the race in solidarity with Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho. However, I reqested that there should be more and deeper consultations with other critical stakeholders in Kogi East for a possible resolution of the impasse. This is in no way an endorsement as being peddled in the social media. Any endorsement by me will have to be in form of a signed Press Statement. I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Deputy Governor for his time and pray that whatever will be the outcome of the primary election issue at the National Headquarters of the party will be in the interest of the Igala/ Bassa nation. This notice is therefore to inform all that I have not endorsed the outcome of the 18th May 2026.
