Today marks exactly 24 years since the painful departure of a Brother, Great Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Traditional Ruler, Retired Military Officer, Businessman, And Distinguished son of Ankpa Kingdom, HRH. Col. Hassan Yakubu (RTD), the Second Ejeh of Ankpa Kingdom.
He was a man of Honor, Discipline, Courage, Wisdom, And Charismatic Authority. A true patriot who served Nigeria faithfully in the Nigerian Army, fought in defense of the nation, and rose to the respected rank of Colonel through dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to duty.
History will forever remember him as the first retired Army Officer to ascend the throne of his forefathers as the Second Ejeh of Ankpa Kingdom, combining military excellence with traditional leadership, dignity, and wisdom. He carried the responsibility of the throne with pride, fairness, courage, and deep love for his people.
Despite betrayals, challenges, and difficult moments, he remained steadfast, disciplined, and committed to protecting the honour and unity of the Ejeh Royal Family, the Abbah Ruling House, Ankpa Kingdom, Kogi East, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large.
Indeed, his legacy remains evergreen.
The Ejeh Royal Family misses him deeply. Ankpa Kingdom remembers him with pride. Kogi East and Nigeria continue to honour his sacrifices, leadership, and contributions to peace and nation building.
As we remember this great icon today, we pray that Almighty Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives all his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, enlarges and illuminates his grave, and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus🤲🏽.
May Allah also forgive and grant peace to the souls of all our departed loved ones and ancestors.
And may Almighty Allah continue to guide, protect, strengthen, and bless those of us still alive with good Health, Unity, Wisdom, Faith, and Peace.
