The two years reforms been executed by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu is worth commendable particularly the enactment of ‘Electricity Act” that guaranteed States and Local Government power to own electricity companies , the metering programs and ongoing rehabilitation of power stations after over five decades of establishment.
The expansion and importation of renewable energy and management under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is worth commendable.
Abubakar Yusuf, a media consultant made this remark during the ongoing stakeholders interactive session organized by the revered Afenifere, a South West Sociopolitical and Cultural group for the advancement of the area on Wednesday, tagged South West Summit, South West Sociopolitical Dialogue.
Adebayo who highlighted the comprehensive achievements of the power sector in the last two years under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu asked Nigerians to recall the 12 times collapsed of ‘National Grid’ recorded in 2024 and the only “one” recorded in 2025, an indicator of an favourable improvement and improved power sector during the Summit .
“It is obvious that the improved provision of lights in our homes can be attested by Nigerians, particularly the hours of supply of lights by distribution companies before now, and planned reforms in the Genco’s and Discos by government ” He noted .
These are among many policy programs the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda intend to execute in the next two years of the administration.
