CONGRATULATORY STATEMENT
On behalf of the entire Igala youths worldwide, I, Hon. Engr. Onogu Collins Monday, National President, Igala Youths Council, extend our warmest congratulations to Major General Waidi Shaibu on his appointment as the new Chief of Army Staff by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This appointment is a testament to Major General Shaibu’s exceptional leadership qualities, professionalism, and dedication to the Nigerian Army. With a distinguished career spanning over several years, he has earned numerous honors and awards for his meritorious service in various fields of operations.
As a seasoned military officer, Major General Shaibu has held several key positions, including Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Commander of 7 Division in Maiduguri, and Director of Training at the Army Headquarters Department of Training in Abuja. His leadership style is characterized by operational precision, community-focused approach, and results-oriented command.
Under his command as Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the Nigerian Army neutralized over 567 terrorists, recovered substantial caches of arms, and oversaw the surrender of more than 121,000 insurgents and their families. His emphasis on tactical intelligence, joint-force coordination, and community engagement has redefined Nigeria’s counter-terrorism doctrine.
We are confident that Major General Shaibu’s wealth of experience, strategic thinking, and leadership skills will enable him to tackle the complex security challenges facing our nation. We pledge our unwavering support to him as he assumes this new role and assure him that he can count on our loyalty and prayers.
We also commend President Tinubu for his bold decision in appointing Major General Waidi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff. We believe that this appointment will further strengthen the Nigerian Army and enhance national security.
