The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has officially inaugurated its newly elected executive members from the 21 local government areas of the state, with a strong charge to reposition the party for victory in future elections.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, witnessed the swearing-in of Hon. Abdullahi Omede and 20 other local government chairmen alongside their executives. The event was attended by top party stakeholders, youth leaders, women representatives, and enthusiastic party supporters from across the state.
Speaking during the ceremony, one of the party leaders, Hon. Idoko Ilona, commended the newly inaugurated executives for their steadfastness and loyalty to the ideals of the PDP. He urged them to see their new positions as a call to service and to work collectively towards rebuilding the party’s structures at the grassroots level.
Hon. Ilona emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and teamwork among members, noting that only through collective effort can the PDP reclaim its rightful position as the ruling party in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Omede, who spoke on behalf of the newly inaugurated local government executives, appreciated the state leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in them. He assured that the new team would immediately embark on a grassroots mobilization drive aimed at strengthening the PDP’s presence across all wards and polling units in Kogi State.
He further pledged that the executives would work tirelessly to ensure the success of the party in upcoming elections, particularly by reconnecting with the people through issue-based campaigns and inclusive leadership.
The event also featured goodwill messages from other party leaders, who called on members to remain committed and resolute despite past challenges, stressing that the PDP remains the hope of the Nigerian people for good governance and development.
The atmosphere was charged with renewed enthusiasm and optimism as party flags were presented to each of the 21 local government chairmen, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for the PDP in Kogi State.
