Worried by the level of redundancy of youths in the Federal Capital Territory FCT, the Minister of FCT, Barrister Nzenwo Nyesom Wike CON in it’s efforts to create jobs , provide more engagement opportunities has launched a grand sports facility in Abuja .
According to the Minister during the ground breaking ceremony, the facility due for commissioning in the third year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda administration, will be equiped with all needed sporting facilities in the world.
Wike deplored the level of attention to sporting events in the nation’s city, and promised henceforth that such facilities will be available not only in the FCT, but area councils and strategic location within the FCT.
While performing the breaking of the ground, Nyesom Nzenwo Wike said sports development world over is the veritable tool to resolving socioeconomic, political and other pressing issues in a country, hence the FCT administration cannot over look sports development.
He said aside been an alternative and legitimate way of engagement of our youths and middle age individuals, it will serve as a centre of unity , attract more development and initiatives.
The Minister promised to improve on not only the provision of facilities to encourage sports , but produce notable sports men and women of different sporting activities for the nation and FCT for sporting competition.
The new complex, aside been open for both local and international sporting facilities and activities will provide series of side attractions, economic activities that will encourage visitors and sports loving men and women.
With the attainment of sports as a veritable tools to other developmental program in the nation’s city, it will reduce to the barest minimum other negative vices and encourage positive development going forward.
The multi million naira sporting facilities been provided by the new leadership under Nyesom Nzenwo Wike will also be available for utilization both locally and internationally in all competitions.
This will also portray Nigeria positively to the international communities in the area sports development and engagement going forward.
