The School of Arts and Social Sciences, Kogi State College of Education Ankpa has begin the maiden international Conference in the College, beginning from 7th -11th, 2025 for arrival and departure .
The Conference with its theme Humanities, Technology and Global Challenges in the 21st century was declared open by Kogi state deputy governor, Elder Joel Oyibo, as chairman of the occasion.
The conference with 17 sub themes , covers Religion and ethics, peace and conflict management, socioeconomic reforms , technology and digital economy, creative arts, and trafficking in persons.
Others are Artificial Intelligence, cyber crime , politics and government, security and development, climate change, environment, green economy and global poverty , history and culture, language and ethnicity, entrepreneurship and innovation, population and other related studies .
The special guest of honor is Kogi Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones , while the Provost of the college , Dr Femi Paul Fashagba as the chief host.
The provost who congratulated the school of arts and social sciences said the choice of the lead theme, Humanities, Technology and Global Challenges in the 21st Century and sub themes was to create a correlation between modern technologies and human endeavors.
Others dignataries and academics at the occasion included Professor Edward Agbo omudu , the key note speaker of the department of biological sciences , Benue state university, the presenter of the lead paper 1 was Professor Joana Barros , imperial college , London, while lead paper 11 was handled by Professor Armstrong Idachaba, Dean , Management Sciences, Veritas University, Abuja and the Host , Dr Idakpo Sunday , Dean School of Arts and Social Sciences , Kogi state college of Education, Ankpa.
The title of the paper by the keynote speaker , Professor Edward Agbo Omudu who spoke on technology and impacts on humanity, technology and racial separation was presented by Professor Joana Barros, the lead speaker two and Professor of Mass Communication, Professor Armstrong Idachaba spoke on Media , Technology and Contemporary for the Igala people.
