The new Director General, National Productivity Centre, NPC, Dr Baffa Baba Dan’agundi was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in July , 2024 and will be one year in office.
Coincidentally, Dr Dan’agundi who is celebrating additional year as his birthday, same month he was appointed as Director General of the centre.
A renowned administrator, politician of high repute , Dr Baffa was the pioneer , Director General , Kano state Road Transport Authority KAROTA that repositioned public transportation in Kano state.
The position he held for many years and left an indelible mark on the sands of time .
Dr Dan’ agundi who was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had inculcated the Renewed Hope Agenda of present administration into the centre’s activities, through massive renovation of the headquarters , and reorientation of the entire staffers across the agency through training and retraining to ensure more productivity.
Aside staff welfare and Infrastructural development, Dr Baffa repositioned the agency by putting a round peg in a round hole in the departments , introduced reward system and promoted those that are due within the short period he assumed duty .
The intermittent training and retraining has improved staff development and performance as well as on the job training in the last one year .
He introduced series of programs through innovation and reforms that had placed productivity at the purview of many government Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDA’s.
The positive development been witnessed near one year of his appointment as Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC has transformed the center.
As you mark additional one year at the helms of affairs of the National Productivity Centre NPC, we pray for more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the agency.
