In recognition of his outstanding legislative prowess and unmatched commitment to the development of his constituency, the Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims who doubles as member representing Ankpa Federal Constituency of Kogi State has been honoured with an award as the Unity Star Television (USTV) Legislator of the Year.
A statement issued by the Deputy Leader’s media aide, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh disclosed that the prestigious award was presented by a delegation of the USTV crew and a representative of the National Assembly Press Corp with the aim of celebrating excellence in leadership and service.
The modest event which was held at the recipient’s office was in recognition of his remarkable impact in legislative representation and grassroots development as since his election to the House of Representatives, Halims has demonstrated uncommon leadership through his stewardship programs which includes the empowerment, infrastructure development, facilitation of employment opportunities for youths as well as other social welfare schemes.
Reacting to the award, the Federal Lawmaker expressed gratitude to USTV Africa for the recognition, thanked God who has always guided him right, dedicated the award to his staff noting that their proactive approach to duties and dedication to the service of his people are what is earning him widespread admiration and respect.
He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to advancing the interests of his constituents through quality bills, motions and reasonable budgetary allocations. Rep Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims described the award as a call to more service, promising to double efforts at delivering quality representation and social empowerment programs for the greater good of his people.
