When the seeming and now escalating political disagreement between our amiable Governor,His Excellency,Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia and our beloved Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF)started,little did we know that there were some people who were already out there waiting for any slightest opportunity for them to either cash in and make the most despicable economic and political benefits out of it or either use it to vent their angers and frustrations of defeat against the SFG for either not supporting their APC party nominations for the 2023 governorship ambitions against Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iornem Alia,whose YES FATHER political mantra/movement added an unprecedented momentum to their painful and embarrassing defeats in the different categories of the 2023 general elections in Benue State,wherein Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia spearheaded the political and movement himself!!
Sadly,we do not seem to realize that,in this seeming disagreement,these categories of losers who were either disappointed by the circumstances as well as the roles of the SFG in ensuring the nomination of Governor Alia and the outcomes of their failure in the 2023 general elections have today seen an opportunity to make both Governor Hyacinth Alia and Senator George Akume,CON,SGF their victims for the defeat given to them in the 2023 APC primaries as they selfishly cash in to take advantage of the seeming disunity between these two great leaders,Governor Hyacinth Alia and the SGF,and heighten it to unbearable level. Unfortunately,these people don’t seem to know or care to know the detrimental effect of their activities to the progress of Benue State.
Let it be noted that If any body deceives us that the persistent disagreement between beloved Governor and the SFG who are both brothers in leadership would be of any meaningful progress to Benue State,at a very historic moment in our existence where and when we are lucky to have a Benue son as the SGF and a pragmatic Rev. Father as the Governor in the state,then that deceiver must be sent by the devil to mislead us.
As researcher who is well knowledgeable in issues of government and governance,I wish to put it on a good authority that the escalation of rife between our dear Governor and the SGF will be counterproductive on either sides of our food basket, going forward.
In the face of the above,my call is for both the SGF and our beloved Governor to look far back to their long standing relationship which has been consistently structured on the lines of true Christian love as Knights of the Catholic Church,as Tiv brothers who supported each other in politics,as Benue sons who have been blessed politically to impact positively on the people of Benue State,and as brothers who will need each other at most predictable and unpredictable political circumstances in Benue State.
I hate it to see that people who ordinarily wouldn’t have taken advantage of both the SGF and our Governor,plying between Makudi to Abuja and Abuja to Makurdi in the ugly quest to heighten tensions between the Governor and the SGF only to cash in and satisfy their selfish and parasitic ego!! Let it be noted that both the SGF and our Governor do no need such people,going forward now that lessons have been learnt and understood. Suffice it to reiterate that too much of everything demystifies its originating essence.
I foresee a situation where with Governor Alia and the SGF in unity Benue State will take a centre stage in ASO VILLA more than any individual on either side of the Governor or the SGF claiming to know Mr. President or have connections in ASO VILLA. I also see Benue State taking the centre stage in allocation advantages,benefits and appointments. I also see Benue State taking the centre stage in the protection security of lives and property of the Benue people,at home and abroad. I also see APC in Benue State solving her party issues better than any individual claiming to know Ganduje or anybody in the National Secretariat of the APC,most especially now that lessons have even been learnt by both SGF and our amiable Governor.
I find it very disheartening when I see people who NEVER believed in Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia and who NEVER even worked for his campaigns and elections coming out today to fuel the seeming disagreement between the Governor and the SGF and selfishly relying the resources they get or can get from the SGF and the Governor to fuel the disagreement between these two leaders. This is nothing but wickedness and a deep source of underdevelopment. Ironically, when 2027 comes, these set of people will not be able to make any significant impact as some of them are already saying they only want to recover what they spent in 2023. Some are even saying during the 2027 elections they will only collect money and stay in hotels .
Furthermore,while there may be clamour for the Presidency to intervene and resolve the lingering disagreement between our amiable Governor and the SGF,it is my absolute belief that the persons who can settle the seeming disagreement between these two leaders is a matter of the two of them believing that Benue can only better with the two of them agreeing to move ahead,despite the temptations of disunity. This will give more meaning and honour to them than allowing issues to be addressed in the Presidency.
Similarly,It is my sincere belief and I can see from afar and near that the SGF knows very well that the reelection of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for 2027 is a project that he the SGF must partake in and in fact charge and steer it to its success because the Benue people believe in Rev Fr. Alia and him the SGF. So the best both of them can do is to respect the will and wish of the people.
Conclusively,while it is on record that the King of Tiv Nation,His Royal Majesty,Professor James Iorzua Ayatse,CFR has remained unwavering in his quest secure and peace in Benue State, and particularly peace between our great leaders,Governor Hyacinth Iornem Alia and Senator George Akume,CON, SGF. I wish to once again kindly request that His Royal Majesty calls for another meeting between these two great sons for peace and progress in the state, now that more lessons have also been learnt.
