The Solidarity Organization for Ultimate Transformation and Social Justice urges Senator Akpabio to uphold democratic principles in his leadership role in the Red Chamber. As a Principal Officer appointed through internal arrangements, it is imperative to recognize that Senator Akpabio’s position is a collective effort by his colleagues. Consequently, actions that perpetuate oppression, including unjust harassment and suspension of colleagues, must be condemned.
Specifically, the unlawful invitation of Ahmad Isah, CEO of Berekete Family, for interrogation regarding an interview ignored by Senator Akpabio, while Natasha Akpoti expressed her views tactfully, is highly reprehensible. Similarly, the failure to respond to Natasha Akpoti’s justified enquiries is unacceptable.
It is essential for Senator Akpabio and all politicians to recognize the trust placed in them by the masses. Therefore, an immediate end to unnecessary orders, influenced arrests, and the abuse of power to intimidate, suppress, and harass citizens is imperative.
The organization demands that Senator Akpabio recognize Natasha Akpoti’s right to represent her constituents. Furthermore, the unconditional release of Comrade Austin Okai, unlawfully arrested by security agencies within 7 days, influenced by the political element of Kogi State, is also demanded.
Senator Akpabio and other political leaders are expected to adopt democratic leadership traits within 21 days, upholding justice, equality, and fairness. This is crucial in promoting a just and equitable society.
The Solidarity Organization for Ultimate Transformation and Social Justice stands in solidarity with the masses, advocating for transformative social justice. The organization will continue to monitor Senator Akpabio’s actions and those of other politicians to ensure they uphold the trust placed in them.
