A prominent philanthropist, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna Dan Alkali, today commenced empowerment program benefiting 1,075 vulnerable residents across Bakori Local Government Area and Dutsin Reme Town, with each beneficiary receiving N10,000 in direct financial support.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dan Alkali, announced that the N10.5 million initiative targets diverse groups including vigilante members, orphans, small-scale businesswomen, tea sellers, and religious school students.
“The program will immediately disburse N5.5 million to 550 beneficiaries across various wards, with 50 individuals selected from each ward,” Dan Alkali explained.
He added that an additional 500 beneficiaries, primarily from areas with 43 polling units, will receive their grants next week after documentation is completed.
“We are supporting vulnerable community members, including students from Almajiri schools, members of the Makera emirate, and participants from both Izala and Darika religious schools. Small business owners, particularly women entrepreneurs, form a significant portion of the beneficiaries,” Dan Alkali stated.
The program also includes a special allocation of N1.6 million to support event attendees and additional funding for local leadership initiatives.
Dan Alkali, who serves as the Director General of “One Good Term Deserves Another,” has consistently supported community development initiatives across the region.
Speaking during the event, Katsina State Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Bakori noted that this empowerment program reflects Alhaji Dan Alkali’s longstanding commitment to uplifting the less privileged in the communities.
The disbursement process began on 4th February, 2025 immediately after the inauguration ceremony while the second phase of payments scheduled to commence next week.
