Katsina State Government will invest N36.2 Billion in constructing 54.7 kilometer road project connecting Kadanya-Kunduru-Radda-Tsakatsa-Ganuwa across Charanchi and Kankia Local Government Areas.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON made this known during the official groundbreaking ceremony. The Governor emphasized that the project budget covers road construction and compensation for affected landowners and proper holders.
Governor Radda announced that the Government has already disbursed N14 Billion mobilization fees, representing 40% of the project sum to Stan Tech Engineering Construction Company. Noting that the project is scheduled for completion within one and half year timeline.
Articulating the strategic significance of the infrastructure initiative, the Governor highlighted its critical importance in enhancing economic opportunities for benefiting communities.
“The road will serve as a major connectivity link, addressing existing infrastructural limitations that have historically hindered economic activities, restricted access to education and healthcare, and impeded the movement of agricultural produce,” Governor Radda stressed.
The Governor further stated that the road symbolizes hope, progress and a brighter future for our surrounding communities. He appealed to community members to take ownership of the project by protecting it against potential vandalization.
Earlier in his address, the State Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. (Dr) Sani Magaji Ingawa, confirmed that the road project will cover seven electoral wards, including Kunduru in Kankia local government.
He assured stakeholders of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring high-quality project execution in collaboration with the construction firm and relevant stakeholders.
On his part, the Managing Director Stan Tech Engineering Mr. Lee, expressed gratitude to the state government for the opportunity to contribute to state development. He reported that land clearance and sand filling have commenced, acknowledging previous delays attributed to late evacuations of farm produce by local farmers.
