The Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has described culture as a heritage he personally cherishes noting that every human segregation can be changed except native origin which predates all other divisions.

According to a statement issued by Comrade Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh, Special Adviser to the Deputy Leader on Media and Publicity, it is upon the backdrop of the Deputy Leader’s quest for a more robust cultural heritage that he endorsed the Kogi State international Carnival as a way of promoting Kogi’s rich cultural heritage, unity in diversity as well as the course of good governance under the able leadership of Governor Usman Ododo.

Rep. Halims revealed that his representation has not and will never overlook promoting anything that unites the State. Earlier, while briefing the Deputy House Leader about the Kogi East program of events, the Kogi East Zonal Coordinator of the carnival who doubles as a former Administrator of Idah Local Government Area, Chief Hilary Amodu said, “I am excited by the sterling performance of Rep. Halims in the National Assembly, and the singular fact that he is the highest ranking Legislator from Kogi State makes him not just a rallying point but a model whose endorsement gives the carnival a national outlook.”

The Kogi East carnival will be held at Anyigba on Wednesday, 4th December, 2024 and the planning committee members who were on the courtesy call delegation led by Hon.
