Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has announced that the Katsina State Government will commence the construction of the strategic Tashar Yawo-Rafin Iwa-Sabuwa road in the 2025 fiscal year. The Governor noted that indigenous construction company have been identified for this vital road project, which is already captured in our budget.
The announcement came during an empowerment program launch in Sabuwa Local Government Area, where ₦50 million in support funds, vehicles, and motorcycles were distributed to party officials through the initiative of Engineer Tasiu Abubakar, the Ajiyan Kogon Katsina.
The Governor further revealed plans to expand the road project’s scope based on community stakeholders’ requests. Additionally, he announced that a team of experts would assess the earth dam near the local council secretariat for renovation, aimed at protecting surrounding communities from flood-related destruction.
In furtherance of his remarks, Governor Radda commended monumental support offered by Engr. Tasiu Abubakar, saying the strategic empowerment is in line with state government support for vulnerable citizens.
Addressing dignitaries at the occasion, Engr. Tasiu stressed that the empowerment programme covered cash donation, presentation of vehicles and motorcycles to carefully selected beneficiaries. He pointed out Governor Radda led administration commitment to infrastructure development, empowerment initiatives, and security enhancement in Katsina State.
The empowerment programme, spearheaded by Engineer Tasiu Abubakar, demonstrated significant support for vulnerable members of the community, local political structures, providing a car to the Local Government APC Chairman, motorcycles to ward chairmen, and cash allocations to party executives from local government to ward levels.
The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa, praised Governor Radda’s strategy of introducing new talent into politics, noting its positive impact on APC’s growing popularity.
The event was attended by key stakeholders including Council Chairman Alhaji Faruq Hayatu Sabua and Sarkin Kogon Katsina, District Head of Sabuwa Engineer Bello Ibrahim and the host of others.
