Katsina Stare Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has announced the award of a contract for the total renovation of the Mai-Bara Primary Health Care Centre in Baure Local Government Area. During an inspection visit to healthcare institutions in the Daura zone, Governor Radda confirmed that the contract would cover the provision of additional healthcare facilities and staff quarters at the Mai-Bara center.
The Governor urged the people of Baure to cooperate and safeguard all the infrastructure provided by the government for their own benefit.
The Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Shamsuddeen Yahya, noted that the Mai-Bara healthcare centre is among those targeted by the state administration for general renovations.
The Chairman of Baure Local Government, Murtala Adamu Pele, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for executing a number of projects in the area.
In the same vein, Governor Radda, accompanied by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahya Daura, inspected the ongoing expansion and upgrade of the Zango Comprehensive Health Centre to the status of a full-fledged General Hospital.
The Governor was conducted around the facility by the Chairman of Zango, Alhaji Babangida Yardaje, and the Officer-in-Charge, Sanusi Sani. Governor Radda directed the Council Chairman to follow up on the request for additional land to allow for the expansion of the hospital.
The Governor also visited the Primary Health Centre in Koza and the Maternal and Child Health Care Center in Kongolom, both in Maiadua Local Government Area. At the MCHC in Maiadua, Governor Radda directed for an immediate report on the condition of the centre for necessary action, observing that the facility had become congested with an influx of more patients seeking medical attention.
