The Governor’s vision was unveiled during a recent visit to the site of the long-awaited Daura Tannery project, which has remained undeveloped for over three decades.
In an interview with journalists at the fenced site of the proposed tannery, Governor Radda emphasized the importance of revitalizing this project, recognizing its potential to bring substantial economic benefits to both the people and the government of Katsina State.
The Governor’s visit affords hands-on approach to governance and his determination to transform long-standing plans into tangible realities.
Governor Radda revealed that his administration has already engaged in discussions with the Ministry of Commerce to explore the most effective ways to utilize the site for its intended purpose.
The state government is actively considering partnerships with both foreign and indigenous investors to bring this business venture to fruition collaborative development and economic diversification.
Expressing his disappointment that the project, initially conceived during the administration of Governor Balarabe Musa, had not progressed beyond the fencing stage, Governor Radda took immediate action.
He directed the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning to mobilize relevant experts from the ministry to conduct a comprehensive survey of the land.
This step will enable the state government to determine the exact dimensions of the property and proceed with well-informed, prompt action.
