The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has graced the turbaning ceremony of two distinguished individuals from the Daura Emirate, performed by the Emir of Daura, HRH Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq.
The ceremony saw Dr. Buhari Sani Buhari turbaned as the Walin Daura and Hajia Jamila Abdulmajid Buhari as the Magajiyar Zangon Daura.
The event, held at the Emir’s palace, was attended by notable dignitaries including the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahya Daura, alongside other legislative members, and former Chief of Army Staff, Retired General Aliyu Gusau.
Governor Radda extended his warm congratulations to the new title holders, stating, “These appointments reflect the rich cultural heritage of our dear Katsina State and the continued importance of traditional institutions in our society. I am confident that Dr. Buhari Sani Buhari and Hajia Jamila Abdulmajid Buhari will serve with distinction in their new roles.”
In his address, the Emir of Daura emphasized the importance of the new title holders’ devotion to serving the masses, following in the footsteps of their late fathers. He also called upon wealthy individuals to contribute to alleviating the current socio-economic challenges faced by the needy.
Following the ceremony, Governor Radda paid a condolence visit to the family of Barden Daura, mourning the loss of Alhaji Ali Adamu, popularly known as Alin Barde. The late Alin Barde passed away at 55, leaving behind wife and children.
The Governor offered his heartfelt condolences, saying, “On behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, I extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Barden Daura. May Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and provide strength to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”
