The Minister of State, Police Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi was appointed in August, 2023 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda in the area of internal security, security of lives of properties, as well as international collaboration with other security agencies.
Soon after her appointment and in line with Renewed Hope Police Agenda of the administration alot of reforms, policies and programs had been introduced to improve internal security, threats as well as ensured adequate security of lives and properties of ordinary Nigerians.
Conversely and towards achieving greater feat in securing the country via the Nigeria Police Force NPF, the well trained security expert of high repute rolled out series of policies that boarderd on the security architecture of the country in line with the demands of the 21st century.
Determined to reposition the Nigeria Police Force NPF with a goal to become a world class police institution that can compete favourably with what is obtainable and in accordance with the international standards and requirements, she drew a line between analogue and digitization of the activities of the Force.
She instilled and introduced not only a responsive Police Force , but improved intelligence led, community and technologically advanced organization.
The intelligence led template was geared towards professionalism and professional disposition of its activities which the new Minister of State, Police Affairs has inculcated with glaring evidence in the conduct of members of Nigeria Police Force NPF in the last ten days “EndBadGovernance” protests early August, 2024.
The Nigeria Police Force NPF is now ever ready through its community policing, public complain apparatus able to address and detonate speculative actions of the public and the security agencies, through a synergy between communities and members of the Nigeria Police Force NPF, having been seen as partners in progress of the nation rather than affront to the public.
Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi has established a technology driven Nigeria Police Force NPF through the digitization of its activities by providing drones to checkmate the activities of criminals, kidnapping, vandals , terrorists among many other vices.
Rather than using the analogue to approach such sophisticated activities of non state actors, the every ready NPF had indulged in using the technologically advanced template with a view to excelling in public safety , upholding the rule of law, fostering community trust through transparent and accountable practices.
In that vein the Nigeria Police Force NPF recently launched the National Cybercrime Center to counter to combat corruption, strengthened internal security in all areas of national development.
Since myriads of criminal activities emanated from cyber related issues in recent times, the need to harmonise and bring on board such technology driven criminal equipment to counter and also checkmate crimes in the country cannot be overlooked.
With multiple reforms and review of the previous ones, it was obvious that the Minister of State, Police Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi has changed the face of the Force in tandem with the envisaged 21st century demands and in line with the international standards and best practices.
Having handled the recent ten days national protest of “EndBadGovernance ” without degenerating and producing heavy casualties unlike the previous ones, no doubt the activities of the Nigeria Police Force NPF, is tailored towards professionalism as been canvassed by the current leadership.
