The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, welcomes representatives from Project CURE USA to the Government House, Katsina, marking the beginning of a week-long health needs assessment across the state.
Project CURE, the world’s largest distributor of donated medical equipment, was facilitated to visit Katsina State by the Gwagware Foundation, under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Aliyu Musawa.
The Project CURE delegation, led by Mr. Robert Fetter, was received at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport by Alhaji Yusuf Aliyu Musawa, alongside Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa; and General Manager of the Katsina State Hospital Service Management Board, Dr. Sabi’u Liadi.
The Delegation then proceded to the Government House, Katsina State where they were introduced to the governor by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bishir Gambo.
Briefing the governor of Katsina State and other members of the State Executive, Mr. Robert Fetter explained that Project CURE approach is to provide donated medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics in the under-developed world.
Speaking further, Robert asserted, “Project C.U.R.E offers numerous sustainable solutions to global health problems and issues. Ultimately, we believe where you live shouldn’t determine whether you live.”
Responding to the Project CURE delegation, Governor Radda provided a brief trackable success recorded in Katsina State’s health sector. He stated, “We are honoured to host Project CURE in Katsina State. Your visit comes at a crucial time in our healthcare journey. Since assuming office, our administration has made significant strides in improving healthcare delivery across the state. We constructed and renovated numbers of healthcare centers. Also, worthy of note is the increased funding for primary healthcare, ensure accessible and affordable healthcare for all residents.”
“Your expertise and support will be invaluable as we continue to build a robust and resilient healthcare system for the people of Katsina State. We look forward to collaborating with Project CURE to address our healthcare needs and elevate the standard of medical care in our state,” Governor Radda added.
The Governor expressed his deep appreciation for Project CURE’s commitment to global health improvement and their decision to assess Katsina State’s healthcare needs.
During their week-long visit, the Project CURE team will tour hospitals across Katsina State, gathering first-hand information to inform their support strategy.
This collaboration between the Katsina State Government, Gwagware Foundation, and Project CURE USA represents a significant step towards enhancing healthcare delivery in the state and underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering beneficial partnerships for the well-being of its citizens.
