We the Chamba Youth Forum Donga read with utmost dismay an article or a write-up credited to one of us named Iliyasu Gadu, a frontline Chamba Journalist and Politician, claiming to be cautioning the revered and highly respected General T.Y Danjuma (Rtd).
Whatever might have gone into the guy’s skull to vomit this uncouth vulgarity is highly apprehensive and condemnable.
In the Chamba culture/tradition, elders are not so disparaged no matter what, not even in the private not to talk of in the public.
There is this common saying amongst our people that “in every twelve, you must find a Judas or in every family, there is always a rotten egg” so it is with Mr Iliyasu Gadu.
Mr. Iliyasu Gadu, in his childishness or rather foolishness in his presentation wished that some elders and responsible people in Southern Taraba get together and approach the general to tell him candidly and without fear that he is neither helping himself nor our area by his utterances which are a danger to us all.
What a rude and an impudent statement …. coming from no other person but one of us named Iliyasu Gadu a Chamba person?
What has Chamba tribe got to do with your vituperation to say that you are a Chamba just like the general? Must you state that you are Chamba like the general? What is the big deal in mentioning your tribe in your observation of his speech? What are you trying to portray Mr man? Who has sent you or whose bidding are you championing? Or have you become a sell out as a result of the hunger/starvation being experienced currently in the country? Has the hunger reached this crescendo that people will be betraying their fellows for a porridge of yam?
We believe strongly that our foes are only using your name, but certainly you couldn’t have been the author of this balderdash.
But if really you wrote this, you are a disappointment not only to your family but to your tribe. We read the revered general speech at the grand reception held in honour of the new Chief of Takum alongside your write-up, we could not fathom or find anything whatsoever in his speech to warrant you accusation of him.
Space would not permit us to forward to the general public your write-up alongside the general’s for the public to form their opinion.
We the Chamba Youth Forum Donga, condemn in its totality/entirety your vituperation as coming from a frustrated freelance journalist, going about joblessly. We also need to warn you to desist from this your junk journalism; always verifying your facts before publishing your information. If you have nothing to say or write about, better keep quiet.
WE SINCERELY HEREBY WISH TO APPEAL PASSIONATELY TO OUR AMIABLE AND HIGHLY RESPECTED ELDER STATESMAN WHOSE NAME HAS BEEN DRAGGED TO THE MUD TO PARDON AND TO FORGIVE THIS NAUGHTY YOUNG MAN.
