The Katsina State Government, under the dynamic leadership of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, continues its commitment to education and welfare initiatives, as it announces the sponsorship of sixty-eight talented candidates to study Bio-economics and Artificial Intelligence in China.

These candidates, selected from public secondary schools across the state, underwent a rigorous selection process and passed a special examination. Professor Abdulhamid Ahmed, the Commissioner for Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education, confirmed the linitiative, revealing that two candidates were selected from each of the thirty-four local governments in the state.

Following approval from the State Executive Council, all expenses for the students, including tuition fees, accommodations, and other necessary materials for their four-year studies, have been covered.

In addition to educational support, the state government demonstrates its commitment to social welfare with the approval of over 1.4 billion naira for the provision of rice and stipends as palliative measures. Alhaji Ishaq Shehu Dabai, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, announced the initiative, targeting thirty-three thousand vulnerable individuals across thirty-one local government areas.

Each beneficiary will receive twenty-five kilograms of rice and stipends to purchase soup ingredients. Furthermore, the state government approved the allocation of over 1.5 billion naira for the supply of fifteen thousand bags of rice to be distributed as cooked meals to less privileged persons across all thirty-four local governments.

Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanci, the Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, outlined the plan to distribute processed food across three hundred and sixty-one electoral wards, benefiting women, youths, traditional rulers, Ulamas, and local government staff.

These initiatives underscore the state government’s dedication to education, social welfare, and community development, as it strives to uplift its citizens and foster inclusive growth and prosperity across Katsina State.
