The Katsina state government has approved over Sixteen Billion Naira for the procurement of fertilizer to farmers across the state for the farming season.
This was disclosed by the Hon. Commissioner for agriculture, professor Ahmed Bakori after the state Executive Council meeting on Wednesday 14, February 2024, at government House Katsina.
While giving the breakdown, Professor Bakori stated that the Twenty Thousand Metric Tones of the fertilizer components consist of; Six Thousand tones of Urea, Eight Thousand tones of NPK 15-15, and NPK 10-10. He added that agriculture and food security is one of the critical agenda of Governor Dikko Radda’s administration.
In another vein, the Commissioner for works, Housing and Transport, Engr. Sani Ingawa also disclosed that the state Exco has approved N1 Billion Naira road construction project beginning from Galadunci down to the residence of late general Hassan Katsina.
The state Executive Council also approved over Six Billion Naira for the settlement of contractors engagement by the previous administration to complete the ongoing projects awarded by the past administration.
