The Centre for Entrepreneurship Training and Policy Initiative (CETPI), under the leadership of Mr. Olawale Fasanya, former Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, yesterday made a presentation to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the Government House Katsina.
The presentation centered on strategies for driving the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in Katsina state.
CETPI’s entrepreneurial initiative seeks to guide newly established Katsina State Enterprises Development Agency (KASEDA) by providing a roadmap for its activities.
The objectives include proposing activities for a solid institutional take-off, suggesting quick wins to enhance enterprise competitiveness, mapping the MSME sector and organic clusters for sustainable intervention programmes, and establishing a framework for coordinating policy initiatives and implementation.
Mr. Olawale Fassnya emphasized that this initiative aims to support the newly established KASEDA in helping SMEs reach their full potential.
According to him, The ultimate goal is to elevate katsina state among the top 5-10 states in Nigeria in terms of economic output and reduce poverty incidence.
Furthermore, the entrepreneurship initiative aims to provide a framework for guiding KASEDA, fostering collaboration with relevant agencies for efficient resource utilization, and strategically positioning KASEDA as the leading regional agency for SME development in Nigeria.
Governor Radda expressed satisfaction with the presentation and thanked the CETPI team for identifying with the state in its quest to reduce poverty,. Create wealth and gainful employment for the teeming youths of the state.
He said the state government will work with CETPI to drive the nMSME ecosystem particularly making the state enterprises development agency the centre for job creation and poverty reduction.
