Obidient movement, KOGI state Coordinating Council, is calling on the Federal Government, the National Judicial Council and all critical stakeholders concerned, to as a matter of urgency, relocate the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Lokoja KOGI state to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja due to insecurity.

This call was made, at the State Executive Council emergency meeting, held in Lokoja on Monday 4th December 2023.

The State Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Bala Oma who spoke to newsmen, shorty after the meeting, expressed his concern over what he termed; the desperate move by some unscrupulous elements, who are bent at disrupting the proceedings at the Election Petition Tribunal.

“How on earth will any individual or group of individuals think they can continue to disrupt the peace in the state, because of their desperation and selfish interest?” First, they involved in killings and destruction of properties of innocent citizens of the state, before and during the electioneering campaign. Now that election is over, same miscreants are still bent on setting the state on fire, by attacking the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC office and now, the Secretary of the Election Petition Tribunal. The question is; WHO IS AFRAID OF THE TRIBUNAL?” Oma stressed.

Bala Oma concluded by admonishing the Federal Government and the National Judicial Council to as a matter of urgency, relocate the Election Petition Tribunal to Abuja, before it becomes too late. We can’t continue to allow hoodlums disguising as leaders to have a filled day, while innocent citizens are being killed, businesses are being grounded and peace is being eluded in a once upon a time peaceful state, because of the greed of an individual. The time to act is NOW!
