Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has urged the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, to sustain the good work he has started now that he is the country’s substantive Police Chief.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Police Council on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Egbetokun as the IGP, after acting for over four months.
In a congratulatory letter forwarded to the new Police helmsman, Governor Radda applauded Egbetokun for boosting the morale of police officers and men, within the short period he acted as Nigeria’s Police boss.
Part of the letter reads: “After a stellar performance as the Acting Inspector General (IG) of Police over the last four months, it is the most gratifying that Mr. President and members of the Police Council, in their benevolent wisdom, unanimously confirmed your well-merited appointment as our substantive IGP.
“It is apt to assert that during your brief stint as the acting Chief of the Nigerian Police, the dampened morale of our police officers and men, were not only revived but re-energized to confront daredevil criminals and quell every internal unrest.
“In a nutshell, our policing system under your dynamic leadership is now a thing of joy. However, more work still needs to be done, if the model Nigerian Police Force citizens all envisioned will become a reality in no distant future.
“You have started well, and it is expected that you will not rest on your oars, now that you are fully in charge of our Police Force. On behalf of the good people and Government of Katsina State, I wish you a fruitful tenure in office”.
