Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has reiterated his administration’s unflinching commitment to permanently addressing the unemployment crisis in Katsina State.
Radda gave his reassurance at the official launching and distribution of some mass transit buses, KEKE NAPEP, hospital materials and cash support to students by Alhaji Aminu Balele Dan Arewa, the Member representing Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
Among the dignitaries who graced the event is the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahya Daura.
While speaking at the launching ceremony inside Kurfi local government Secretariat, the Governor revealed that ‘jobless and idle’ youths in the State will soon get a lifeline.
“We will not allow our able-bodied youths to remain unemployed. That is why we are planning to enrol idle youths in the State into the Katsina State Empowerment Program. They will benefit from our skills acquisition training, and become self-reliant thereafter,” he said.
According to Governor Radda, by the time Katsina youths without any source of livelihood are empowered financially, they will become useful to the society.
Acknowledging the socio-economic hardship faced by the people of the State, Radda noted that the State Government remains committed to bettering their living conditions, through the implementation of viable policies and beneficial programmes.
“Our All Progressives Congress, APC, party officials will also be considered too. They will soon start receiving monthly allowance, for the invaluable sacrifices they are making to sustain our party,” he said, calling on all Katsina APC politicians holding elective positions to always respect the party.
According to him, the party was the ladder and gateway to the offices they presently occupy. Governor Radda appreciated the Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma constituency Reps’ member for empowering his constituents, urging him to continue putting smiles on the face of his people.
In his speech, Alh. Balele Dan Arewa promised more programs that will impact positively on his constituents. “We are planning to install solar-powered lighting systems in all the health institutions across the two local governments in our constituency,” he revealed.
The federal legislator said that apart from fencing Kurfi Model and Mai-Mani Primary Schools, as well as the reconstruction of collapsed classrooms at Yar’liya’u Primary School within the constituency, two additional schools would be renovated before the end of February next year, as part of his constituency projects.
An APC chieftain in the constituency, Aliyu Rabiu Kurfi appreciated Hon. Dan Arewa for his quality representation at the National Assembly (NASS) and execution of developmental projects in both Kurfi and Dutsinma local governments.
