“Ladies and gentlemen of the Press and the good people of Kogi State,
I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude for the support you have shown me throughout my journey towards the Governorship of our beloved state. It has been a path marked with challenges, and I appreciate your steadfastness.
I want to address the recent decision by the Appeal Court regarding my candidacy. It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to stand down from the race for Governorship. While the court’s ruling may not have gone in our favor, my commitment to the people of Kogi State remains strong.
Over the years, our state has grappled with decay and neglect. Salaries delayed or incomplete, crumbling infrastructure, and a general sense of despair have plagued our dear Confluence State. It is precisely because of these challenges that I decided to run for Governor, with the sincere intention of bringing about positive change and progress.
Though I must step back from the race, I implore all the good people of Kogi State to rally behind the candidate who truly has the best interests of our state at heart. Let us set aside our differences and unite for the greater good. Together, we can overcome the challenges that have held us back for far too long.
To my loyal party members and faithful supporters, I urge you to remain encouraged and resilient. Your dedication to our cause has been the driving force behind our campaign, and your energy and commitment are not in vain. We may be stepping back, but the fight for a better Kogi State continues.
I believe that, united, we can build a brighter future for our state. Let us focus on the shared goal of progress, development, and prosperity for all Kogi residents. Together, we can overcome any obstacle that stands in our way.
