Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State surprised many yesterday as he discreetly stepped away from the Government House to his village for Friday prayers and a casual ride.
Despite the presence of his entourage and top officials, the Governor’s location became a mystery for a short while before 2pm.
Governor Radda chose to quietly leave the Government House accompanied by just three companions. His destination was his rural home in Radda, a quick 40-minute drive from the state capital, Katsina.
Arriving at his village in a simple two-car convoy, Mal. Radda took a moment to engage with worshippers at the local Juma’at mosque after performing the Friday prayers. His unassuming nature was evident as he warmly greeted members of his community.
Adding a touch of simplicity, the Governor hopped onto a motorcycle to visit his elder brother’s house, where he engaged in a brief conversation with family members.
Before his close aides at the Government House could wonder about his whereabouts after nearly three hours, Governor Radda had already begun his return journey to Katsina.
In an uncommon and unpretentious move, the Governor’s choice to connect with his community through prayers and a leisurely ride highlighted his approachable and grounded personality.
