THE STORY BEHIND THE DEATH OF ADELABU ADEGOKE PENKELEMESIΒ

Today Thursday 6th July, 2023, was slated by the Social Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka to visit the state and pay courtesy call on the traditional rulers. We recall the last time such event was to take place 3rd June, but the journey was cut short after thugs allegedly working for the governor of the state and the state governor’s convoy ran into the crowd of teaming supporters of the SDP candidate Ajaka, where many injured with bullets and many cars belonging to Ajaka were destroyed. He was forcefully turned back to Abuja.

Today such trip has been scheduled by the SDP candidate to pay homage to traditional rulers and it has been alleged that a branded vehicle of SDP has been sited in Lokoja with weapons by those loyal to the government to use and infiltrate the convoy of the SDP candidate to accuse his supporters of carrying arms and ammunitions.

Aside this planned attack on his supporters to brand him as terrorists sponsor, the governor has communicated all the first class chiefs in the state through the commissioner for Chieftency Hon. Deedat Ozigi that no first class chief should receive the SDP candidate.

The governor who is currently in Abuja has horridly informed his team of his returning back to Kogi this morning after the news of Hon. Ajaka going to the state was broken to him. In few minutes from now you will see governor Bello on his way to Lokoja from Abuja to perpetuate another mayhem.

We are keeping tabs on the government activities in the state and report promptly of this development as the governor is bent on not allowing the SDP candidates access to the state due to fear of his popularity and large acceptance in the state but other candidates who are not threat to his political arrangements to install his brother will be allowed into the state freely.

We recall that recently the governor has sacked some of his appointees accused of supporting the SDP candidate and more to be sacked due to this development. DSS has been used in tormenting those appointees sacked recently by inviting them at will into the DSS custody in the state.
