I was in Zaria today Saturday October 5 to attend the wedding ceremony of the son of Senator Sahabi Alhaji Yau, that experience of road network along kept the legacy of former Kaduna state Governor , Nasir Elrufai alive in me , and his adventure of roads networks in Kaduna , the state Capital.
But my experience the previous day when I slept in Kaduna , the state Capital, one year down the line after the administration of former Kaduna state Governor, Nasir Elrufai was not palatable interms of the dilapidated major roads in Kaduna , the face of the state capital .
This negated the media hype of rural and urban regeneration been preached and much spoken of by Governor Uba Sani.
For over two decades or since the inception of democracy in 1999, the conditions of Kaduna township roads have not been so bad , as virtually all the round abouts are cynosure of decapitation worsened by the sight of Kaduna south roads.
What was practically on ground in Kaduna state with regards to roads network was far from the impression the state government have been forcing people to belief.
Kaduna , the state Capital has become the shadow of itself with incessant hold ups occasioned by damaged portions of strategic areas of the town known before now, as the beauty of the State Capital.
My relief was that the same Kaduna state Governor was in Zaria to ply the good roads constructed by his predecessor, Nasir Elrufai to the cosmopolitan people of Zaria city during the wedding.
I now came to terms of what does it take for Governor Uba Sani to build on the legacies of the former governor in the area of roads construction, despite that there is no longer love lust between them.
Kaduna “garin gomna” paid it’s due among committee of northern states and does not deserve a defaced environment of bad roads across all areas except those reconstructed by former Governor , Nasir Elrufai.
It is high time Governor Uba Sani commence the process of redressing and reconstruction of the one’s revered Kaduna road networks, that had been the cynosure of attraction by visitors , rather than the gridlocks occasioned by failing road networks .
