The annual Hijrah celebration organized by Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Okunland has been held at Iyamoye, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Chairman JNI Okunland, Alhaji Isiaka Sule in a speech read by his Vice, Alhaji Dare Nafiu called on Muslims in Okunland to pray for a peaceful Kogi State Governorship election in November this year.
Alhaji Isiaka described Hijrah as a demonstration of Prophet Muhammad’s peaceful nature having left Makkkah for Madinah to allow peace reign.
He commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his support to religious Organizations in the state and urged him to sustain the tempo.
Guest Speaker at the occasion, Abulrasheed Imam used the occasion to advise Muslims to follow the pattern of behaviour displayed by Prophet Muhammad while preaching the message of Unity of God.
In a remark at the occasion, the Governorship Candidate of Action Alliance, Olayinka Buraimoh called for synergy towards ensuring an egalitarian Kogi State.
He promised continuous support to Islamic programmes put in place by Kogi State JNI describing the Organization as very focused.
Goodwill messages came in from the Chairman JNI Kogi State, Ambassador Usman Bello, Honourable Architect Salman Idris who was Chairman of the occasion, the Onu Itobe, His Royal Highness,Alhaji Salihu Adaji Ocholi, Alhaji Isa Adeboye, Secretary, JNI, Kogi State, Honourable Taofeek Isa, Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area among others.
Highlight of the occasion was presentation of merit awards to Barrister Muhammed Adebola Sheidu, Engineer Taiye Tehinse and Alhaji Ahmed Afobaje Balogun for their support to the upliftment of Islam in Okunland, Launching of 1445 Hijrah Calendar and unveiling of Al-Nusrah Magazine.
