In a commendable effort to support the vulnerable residents of Katsina State, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has led the distribution of 1,200 bags of cement and 960 bags of 5kg rice to the people.
The items were donated by a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly representing Katsina Local Government.
The distribution event, which took place at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, attracted a large gathering of beneficiaries, including the vulnerable and other affected individuals.
Governor Radda expressed his appreciation for the legislative member’s generous contribution, stating that the gesture would go a long way in reducing the suffering of the people.
“The distribution of such items in a public setting encourages others to follow suit and provide similar support to those in need,” said Governor Radda.
“I applaud the legislative members in Katsina State for their efforts in providing palliative measures to the people in their constituencies, and I hope they will maintain this momentum.”
According to the legislator, Hon. Ali Abu Albaba, 80 vulnerable individuals from each of the 12 electoral wards of Katsina Local Government were identified to receive the rice, along with 100 others affected by flooding who received the cement. The distribution also considered people with special needs, and youth as beneficiaries.
The Katsina State Government’s initiative alongside the legislator’s humanitarian efforts, demonstrates a commitment to supporting the well-being of the state’s residents and mitigating the challenges faced by the vulnerable communities.
