Deputy Leader of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has congratulated Governor Ahmad Usman Ododo of Kogi State on his affirmation as the duly elected Governor of Kogi State by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The Lawmaker who doubles as member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State described the verdict of the apex court as a divine testimony of the Governor’s commitment to the service of the people of Kogi State.

He noted that the decision of the Supreme Court Judges to validate Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s win in the November 11th 2023 gubernatorial election is a call for all well meaning Kogites to put aside partisan interests and join hands in moving the State forward.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh, Rep. Halims said that the serial affirmation made by the election petition tribunal, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court has laid to rest all doubts and controversies raised by the opposition about the election.

While acknowledging the importance of election petition as a cardinal organ of democracy to express grievances arising from the conduct of polls, Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims commended the Social Democratic Party’s candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka for exploring this legitimate means rather than using emotional avenues that would have hit up the polity.

Rep Halims urged leaders and stakeholders of the ruling party to be magnanimous with their victory as he expressed confidence that the Governor is a patriotic democrat who will uphold fairness to all citizens for a united and prosperous Kogi State.
